A parallel version of the D-Ant algorithm for the Vehicle Routing Problem

چکیده
In this paper we study a parallel implementation of the D-Ant algorithm developed by Reimann, Doerner and Hartl [9] for solving the Vehicle Routing Problem. The main idea in this algorithm is to speed up the search by letting the ants solve only sub-problems rather than the whole problem. This algorithm is well suited for parallelization. We propose a mixed parallelization strategy which combines fine-grained with coarsegrained parallelism.

A Combined Metaheuristic Algorithm for the Vehicle Routing Problem and its Open Version
Abstract: The Open Vehicle Routing Problem (OVRP) is one of the most important extensions of the vehicle routing problem (VRP) that has many applications in industrial and service. In the VRP, a set of customers with a specified demand of goods are given and a depot where a fleet of identical capacitated vehicles is located. We are also given the ‘‘traveling costs’’ between the depot and all th...
متن کاملSolving the vehicle routing problem by a hybrid meta-heuristic algorithm
The vehicle routing problem (VRP) is one of the most important combinational optimization problems that has nowadays received much attention because of its real application in industrial and service problems. The VRP involves routing a fleet of vehicles, each of them visiting a set of nodes such that every node is visited by exactly one vehicle only once. So, the objective is to minimize the to...
متن کاملSolving the Vehicle Routing Problem with Simultaneous Pickup and Delivery by an Effective Ant Colony Optimization
One of the most important extensions of the capacitated vehicle routing problem (CVRP) is the vehicle routing problem with simultaneous pickup and delivery (VRPSPD) where customers require simultaneous delivery and pick-up service. In this paper, we propose an effective ant colony optimization (EACO) which includes insert, swap and 2-Opt moves for solving VRPSPD that is different with common an...
متن کاملA Mixed Integer Programming Formulation for the Heterogeneous Fixed Fleet Open Vehicle Routing Problem
The heterogeneous fixed fleet open vehicle routing problem (HFFOVRP) is one of the most significant extension problems of the open vehicle routing problem (OVRP). The HFFOVRP is the problem of designing collection routes to a number of predefined nodes by a fixed fleet number of vehicles with various capacities and related costs. In this problem, the vehicle doesn’t return to the depot after se...
متن کاملA HYBRID ALGORITHM FOR THE OPEN VEHICLE ROUTING PROBLEM
The open vehicle routing problem (OVRP) is a variance of the vehicle routing problem (VRP) that has a unique character which is its open path form. This means that the vehicles are not required to return to the depot after completing service. Because this problem belongs to the NP-hard problems, many metaheuristic approaches like the ant colony optimization (ACO) have been used to solve OVRP in...
متن کاملAnt Colony Algorithm for the Single Loop Routing Problem
In this paper, a new algorithm for solving the single loop routing problem is presented. The purpose of the single loop routing problem(SLRP) is to find the shortest loop for an automated guided vehicle covering at least one edge of each department of a block layout. First it shown that this problem can be represented as a graph model. Then a meta-heuristic algorithm based on and colony system ...
